Harvest supper

Our first ever potato harvest

I'd never tried growing potatoes before but when mum had a few spare plus a big tub to put them in I thought we'd give it a go. We will definitely do it again next year - they are so easy to grow, make sure they are watered and chuck some compost on them as they do and sit back and wait for supper...

Buddy had been eating the leaves during a few long evenings of freedom in the garden he had recently so I thought we may as well tip them out and see what we had got (Buddy inducing vegetable harvesting is a bit of a recurring theme in our garden).

In the end we had enough to fill a colander which is not bad from a three potato start. We've had them the past two nights boiled and tossed with butter and french beans (also from the garden) along with a shin beef and beetroot stew also containing the baby carrots we grew. Tonight we are finishing them off with good old bangers and mash. They're a bit odd looking but they sure have been tasty :)
