A River Cottage Mother's Day

Last week good old Hugh Fearnley-Whatsit emailed me and told me I had to bake Pam's Zesty Lemon Madeira Cake for Mother's Day. So I did. Here's my masterpiece (the silver balls and the Lindt bunny were my additions) which I still haven't had a piece of yet - there's one waiting for me to with my cup of tea when I get home from work tonight. If you are tempted here's the recipe.

PS. If you haven't yet signed up to Hugh's Fish Fight please make sure you do, he's fighting against the unnecessary and unethical discarding of perfectly good fish.

I think the bunny really adds something to it, you should suggest that to Hugh. Also totally agree on the fish fight, I have written my letter to my MP....

@mutteringsofafool not sure he'd approve of a Lindt bunny, would have to be a fairtrade bun or something like that!

@nicsnotebook it was all set up to post yesterday evening but the stupid iPhone wouldn't let me put the image in. And I'm on my lunchbreak now :P

Mmm looks yummy! I love how you've spread the icing, I can never get mine to look like that! The bunny is awesome too, they are my favourite thing about this time of year, although it's a close call with mini eggs. :)

I got the same email a few weeks ago and have finally made the cake. Yours looks great. I used hearstease flowers for decoration but I like your very Eastery bunny.
